Farming is a challenge no matter if you are raising livestock or growing produce and crops. It is impossible for any one farmer to do it all. When farmers focus on 1 or 2 ventures they can bring the highest quality products to their customers. So since Chewy's Backyard Farm raises chickens and Ithica Beef raises cows, we decided to work together.
Our #FarmersSupportingFarmers project provides one stop pickups for locally raised beef and chicken.
Go to Ithica Beef’s website to order their beef and choose Chewy’s Backyard Farm as their pickup location.
We will pick up your order on Wednesday from Ithica Beef.
You can then get your order at the farm or at one of the 3 farmers markets we attend.

Ithica Beef takes great care to keep our pasture and grasses in the best condition possible for our cattle, with that being their primary food source. They are supplemented daily with high quality grain, which is also used once the finishing process begins. Based on the custom cut sheets that our local processor provides us with, we pick up beef that is shrink wrapped, frozen, and USDA inspected on a monthly basis.
Chewy's Backyard Farm Pasture Raised Chicken is raised on a pasture and moved to fresh grass EVERYDAY. Our birds spend 2-3 weeks in a brooder allowing them time to develop their feathers and establish a healthy immune system. Then they are put into shelters on pasture called chicken tractors.
Chicken tractors are moved daily, never allowing the birds to sit in manure laden soil for prolong periods. If the birds ain’t movin’, then they ain’t pastured, its that simple.
Our chickens live the way chickens should live eating grass, bugs, worms, scratching in the dirt, and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
